About

This is a plain-talk, no-nonsense, jargon-light website designed to help you with your fibroid situation. It’s the website I wish I’d had when I was going through hell with my fibroids.

Now that I’ve received treatment and my life is a thousand percent better, I made this site to help you have an easier time than I did. I put all the most useful information I learned in one place.

I created this page because after I was diagnosed with fibroids, I found it far too difficult to get the information I needed to make informed decisions about my care. My doctor was dismissive of my pain and suffering. She didn’t take me seriously, and gave me condescending useless suggestions like “use a hot water bottle and take an Advil.” Give me a break, I was already taking the maximum allowed dose of Advil, using hot water bottles, tens units, heat patches, herbal supplements, CBD, acupuncture, and more.

My fibroids made my period a living nightmare. I was writhing in pain for 7-10 days of every month, during which I was barely able to walk, hardly able to eat, and usually unable to work.

I believe that my doctor’s disinterest in treating my fibroids, and her lack of urgency—ignoring and not monitoring my fibroids—increased my suffering by allowing them to go untreated and proliferating in number. Her “let’s wait and see” approach, which lasted years, just flung me into deeper and more debilitating pain. I didn’t deserve to live like that, and neither do you.

Because my doctor offered me essentially no care, I was forced to educate myself about my fibroid diagnosis and my treatment options. I wish that I had a page like this one to help me figure out what was wrong with me and how to treat it. I hope this page helps you too.

I hope this page helps you see that you do have options when it comes to treating your fibroids. And if your doctor isn’t advocating for you, taking you seriously, or doing the most to offer you high-quality care, don’t be afraid to switch doctors or seek additional care elsewhere as your budget allows. My HMO’s doctors were useless and I had to eventually go out of network to get the care I needed. It was expensive, but absolutely worth it, because it gave me my life back. I want to help you too.

Unlike a lot of other fibroid information pages you see out there that are subtly influencing you to buy their service, this unbiased website of fibroid answers:

❌ Is not represented by any particular doctor or insurance company

❌ Is not represented by any particular fibroid treatment center

❌ Is not pushing any particular fibroid treatment

I’m not a doctor, so I have to officially say that “this website is not medical advice.” But this website is informed by the months of round-the-clock medical advice and extensive medical research that I obsessively read and learned over the course of a year to help me deal with my own fibroids and choose a treatment plan. I included my receipts and links to research studies and other experts throughout the site.

While going through my own hellacious journey of fibroids, I found it hard to find clear, simple, impartial information in one place about fibroids and fibroid treatment options. So I put this page together to help make it easier for other folks out there who are searching the internet and maybe freaking out a little. Don’t freak out. It’ll be ok. I was in your shoes before too.

After a few tries, I found the right doctor who took my pain seriously and who was trained to deliver the fibroid treatment I needed. My life has COMPLETELY changed. Now my periods are about 2 days long — and so light that some days I only use liners — and it’s almost entirely pain free. You don’t have to live in pain. I hope this page helps you out.
